Artificial Intelligence in the service of consumers and retail

The retail landscape is constantly evolving, driven by digital transformation, changing consumer behavior, and unforeseen disruptions, such as COVID-19 or other calamities. Retailers are increasingly investing in automation, digital technology, digital community, data analytics, and/or personalization to improve their customers” experience and optimize their supply chains.

The "Artificial Intelligence in the service of consumers and retail " theme explores how retailers can adapt, innovate, and thrive in the face of these challenges, reflecting the need for retailers to become nimble, adaptable, and customer-centric in an era of constant change.  

 CERR 2024 under this theme aims to provide a platform for researchers, scholars, and practitioners to share insights and strategies for adapting AI tools so as to build successful retail and customer experience in an increasingly digital and dynamic environment.

 “Artificial Intelligence in the service of consumers and retail” encourages the exploration of different aspects and we welcome submissions on, but not limited to the following themes and related tracks:

  • Digital Transformation: Strategies for leveraging AI, e-commerce, and omnichannel approaches to improve retail operations and customer experiences.

  • Consumer-Centricity: How retailers can deepen their understanding of consumer behavior and preferences in an increasingly digital and data-driven world.

  • Supply Chain Agility: Building AI-driven retail supply chains that can withstand disruptions, from global crises to supply chain shortages.

  • Innovation and Adaptation: Fostering a culture of innovation within retail organizations, from new business models to store formats and marketing approaches.

  • Data Analytics: The role of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning in improving decision-making and personalization in retail

  • Sustainability: Integrating sustainability practices and values into retail operations and products to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly options.

  • Customer Experience: Strategies for creating exceptional and memorable customer experiences, both online and in physical stores.

  • Retail Workforce: Addressing opportunities in workforce reskilling in an evolving retail landscape.

  • Ethical Retailing: Exploring the importance of ethics, transparency, and corporate social responsibility in retail operations.

  • Emerging Retail Trends: Examine emerging trends such as virtual reality shopping, social commerce, and quick commerce.

  • Policy and Regulation: Examine the impact of regulatory changes on the retail industry, including data privacy, sustainability regulations, darkstore regulations, and e-commerce taxation.

PAPER SUBMISSION         

 

For reasons beyond our control, we have to cancel the CERR this year in Jacksonville.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We will get back to all the authors who have up till today, April 19th, submitted and abstract or a paper.

We will notify avery author and co-author. 

We hope to be able to organize instead an online event in which the interested parties may still come to assist to a discussion of the paper that they have submitted.
